RENEWABLE ENERGY, DENMARK

Demand description

Renewables have a growing role in the energy mix in Europe, and particularly in Denmark. Wind and solar park operators currently use climate services in their decision-making process to invest and operate their assets efficiently.

Case overview

Based on the results of the regional climate vulnerability analysis carried out in the MARCO project, this case study will identify the existing and potential future demand for climate services in terms of trading in energy markets (short- and medium-term decision making) and the planning for construction of new renewable power assets (long-term decision-making). The assessment will include a close dialogue with stakeholders including power companies and energy planning authorities.
